# NVIDIA Jetson

Flashing board memory

Jetson devices have onboard memory that must be flashed separately from, e.g., memory available on a removable SD card. The following utility can be used to flash devices to the supported SDK version:

{% embed url="<https://github.com/balena-os/jetson-flash>" %}

{% hint style="info" %}
For best results, you should install and use this tool on an x86 Linux machine running the latest Ubuntu stable release, which has physical connectivity to your target Jetson device over USB. While it is theoretically possible to do some of this with virtualization and USB passthrough, it's not recommended. *Here be dragons* :dragon::dragon:
{% endhint %}

To run utilize the GPU in your containers and load all the necessary CUDA modules, please see our [FAQ](/chi-edge/faq.md#how-do-i-run-a-gpu-workload-on-the-jetsons-xaviers)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://chameleoncloud.gitbook.io/chi-edge/device-enrollment/nvidia-jetson.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
